Das Strahlungsmanagement im Climate Engineering – Ein Überblick

DOI

Radiation management in climate engineering - an overview: Climate engineering methods that intervene in the radiation budget and thus in the energy budget of the earth are subsumed under the term radiation management. The proposed methods almost all rely on redirecting incoming solar radiation in such a way that this reduces the warming at the earth's surface by a certain amount. One proposal also involves increasing outgoing thermal radiation. The potential effectiveness of the methods is highly variable. What they have in common is the possibility for undesirable meteorological or environmental side effects. This contribution provides a first overview of the variety of methods, more detailed information can be found in the following sub-chapters.
