Characterization of bacterial diversity on gut, gill, and skin mucosa of Atlantic salmon

V3V4 16S rRNA gene sequencing was conducted to characterize the mucosal microbiota on the gill, gut, and skin of Atlantic salmon. The influence of functional feed ingredients (mannan-oligosaccharides, coconut oil, or a combination of the two) on the mucosal microbiota and host gene expression across the three tissues were assessed.
