This study focussed on public and parliamentary opinion in the FSU/ECE during 1993-1994. Particular attention was paid to political values in the Postcommunist era. For further details please see documentation. The UK Data Archive also holds a later study by the same Principal Investigator, W.L. Miller, SN 3930 'Coping with Government in the FSU/ECE, 1996-1998'. This study is not part of the same project but deals with similar subjects.

This study covered: social background, social and political participation, political interest, attitude to government, privatisation, cultural issues, political corruption, voting, political protest, educational background, employment status and other demographic questions. Separate questionnaires were used in each country for members of Parliament and the general public. For further details please see documentation.
