The aim of this research is to analyse the influence of party slogans and the main interest groups on the behaviour of citizens during federal votes, by distinguishing between the legal type and content of the subjects put to the vote, as well as the concerned legislation . To this end, the party slogans given by the federal parties and the main interest groups have been collected for all the federal votes that have taken place since 1970. When collecting information on the various votes, four factors were systematically favoured to determine their relationship with citizens' voting behaviour. These are: the period (each time corresponding to the legislatures of the Federal Chambers), the legal type of the vote (optional or compulsory referendum, initiative, counter-project), the coalitions that are formed objectively at the partisan level on the basis of the different slogans, and the content of the vote (classified according to a tree schema drawn up by the authors of this research).

Cette recherche a pour but d'analyser l'influence des mots d'ordre des partis et des principaux groupes d'intérêt sur les comportements des citoyens lors des votations fédérales, en distinguant selon le type juridique et le contenu des objets soumis au vote, ainsi que selon la législation considérée. A cette fin, les mots d'ordre donnés par les partis fédéraux et les principaux groupes d'intérêts ont été récoltés pour la totalité des votations fédérales ayant eu lieu depuis 1970. Lors du relevé de l'information sur les diverses votations, quatre facteurs ont été systématiquement privilégiés pour cerner ensuite leurs relations avec les comportements des citoyens lors des votations. Il s'agit: de la période (correspondant chaque fois aux législatures des Chambres fédérales), du type juridique de la votation (référendum facultatif ou obligatoire, initiative, contre-projet), des coalitions qui se forment objectivement au niveau partisan sur la base des différents mots d'ordre, et du contenu de la votation (classé selon un schéma en arbre élaboré par les auteurs de cette recherche).
