The purpose of this study was to obtain and compare information concerning the socio-economic backgrounds and some of the aptitudes and abilities of students attending different courses and to determine how these are related to attainment.

Main Topics:

Variables A multi-aptitude test, composed of ten short sub-tests, was administered to 4,061 students attending nineteen colleges. Additional information regarding socio-economic status, course followed, sex, and whether English was a first or second language was also recorded. Data regarding examination results were obtained when possible.
