SR study near the ferromagnetic quantum critical point in CePd1-xRhx (x=0.70 and 0.95) alloys

DOI

Rcently the NFL behaviour near an antiferromagnetic quantum critical point (AFQCP) has been investigated extensively. Very recently, we have investigated, for the first time, the spin dynamics near a ferromagnetic quantum critical point FQCP in CePd0.15Rh0.85 using inelastic neutron scattering and muSR measurements. Interestingly our muSR study on CePd0.15Rh0.85 reveals a strong increase in the relaxation rate below 1K, but with no clear sign of long range magnetic ordering. It is therefore of great interest and particularly timely to investigate the spin dynamics on either side of the critical composition (i.e. in x=0.70 and 0.95) in CePd1-xRhx. We therefore propose to measure the spin dynamics using muSR of the non-critical compositions x=0.70 and 0.95 for comparison. The results are essential for our discussion of the origin of the observed increase in the relaxation rate in xc=0.8
