Sr0.75Y0.25CoO2.62 is a promising cathode material for solid oxide fuel cells. It shows metallic behaviour above 600K and molecular dynamics simulations have concluded that oxygen-ion diffusion is significant at temperatures above 700K. With the aim to understand the factors governing mixed ionic/electronic conductivity in electrode materials, we intend to monitor changes in local structure as a function of temperature and determine the oxide-ion conduction pathway using 2D and 3D Fourier difference maps. We anticipate a complex oxygen diffusion pathway from our molecular dynamic simulations.
