As modern technologies have great impact on the lives of adolescents, conceptually and methodologically diverse academic research in this field should be promoted also in Slovenia. The analysis of current situation is of great importance as the exposure to modern media is increasing and real long-term effects of this exposure are unpredictable. The purpose of the survey was to gather data on the media habits of high school students and analyse the impact of media habits on different areas of life of adolescents. The ability to critically assess information in the media was also researched. Data on delinquency, vandalism in and outside of school, learning success, ability to concentrate and satisfaction with life was collected, which allowed the analysis of the impact of media habits on these categories.

Some of the schools forwarded the link to the questionnaire to the students, accompanied with the written invitation to participate in the poll. Self-administered paper survey was conducted as a controlled survey. Students in chosen classes filled in the written questionnaire during their classes.
