Nanzi and the King's horse told by Laura Lucille Quast, recorded on video for the Anansi Masters project in Curacao.Subject: Taking risk in abusing the situationDescription: Nanzi takes up the risky task to take care of the King's horse but takes advantage in doing so.Content: Nobody is keen on taking care of the King's horse, because the King has said that the one who declares the horse dead will have to die himself. Nanzi isn't afraid of such threats and gladly takes care of the horse. Every day he gets a sum of money to buy the horse food. But Nanzi never buys food for the horse, he buys food for himself, Shi Maria and the children! He lets the horse graze on the lawn. Everything goes well until a time of drought comes and the grass withers away. The horse slowly dies, but Nanzi isn't worried and continues to buy delicacies for himself and his family. One day, the horse passes away and lies on the ground with bared teeth, as if it is smiling. Nanzi keeps claiming the horse is smiling. Now the King can't do anything, for Nanzi has never declared the horse dead.About Anansi Masters: The Anansi Masters project is developed by Vista Far Reaching Visuals (Mr. Jean Hellwig) and partners.
