DOI

This is a survey of the students of the Department of Sociology of the University of Crete, which took place in the context of a six-month seminar and a thesis. Students recorded Eleftherotypia newspaper publications on the 2010, 2011, and 2013 protest events from the newspaper's online archive, according to the research methodology for the protest events, and their first findings were imprinted in small papers. The data for 2012 have been derived from the thesis of Vassia Papageorgiou, who due to the termination of the release of Liberty print that year extracted her data from the online journal AYGI and the TVXS website. The recording of the 2009 protest events draws on the thesis of Sofia Karyka. The purpose of the survey was to record the incidents of protest during the period 2008-2013.The recording of protest events during the selected period was sought for the purpose of a comparative view of the fluctuation of collective action and of the protest year by year, while recording the contents of the collective action, their direction, its organizers, the forms chosen, their duration, place of occurrence, participation in social, professional and demographic groups and categories and their outcome.
