To provide details of the council house waiting list and transfer list in Dudley County Borough and the pattern of housing allocation. The survey formed part of a wider study of housing needs. Main variables include household characteristics, present dwelling characteristics and requirements of applicants, and of those allocated a council house.

Details of transfers and allocations (whichever applicable), any medical priority, type of dwelling required (garage, number of bedrooms, maximum rent payable etc.), total housing points. Reason for withdrawal from waiting list (where applicable). Background Variables Age, sex, place of birth, employment status.
