Incubation experiments characterizing nitrate reduction in the water column of Lake La Cruz, Spain

We performed incubation experiments with added nitrate (and additional sulfide) using water samples from the meromictic Lake La Cruz, Spain, to determine the N and O isotope effects of nitrate reduction in natural lake water consortia. Samples were collected during field campaigns in March 2015 and March 2017 at the deepest point of the lake, using an in situ pump at depths of 14.5 m or 17 m.
