Hydrogen Isotopes and revised SST of middle Miocene seawater from IODP Site 307-U1318

DOI

Mid-Miocene (16.6 - 12.8 Ma) hydrogen isotopes of alkenones and sea temperatures are obtained from the sediment record of Integrated Ocean Discovery Program (IODP) Expedition 307, Site U1318 drilled in the Porcupine Basin, north east Atlantic at a water depth of ~ 400 m. We present a revised temperature record (cf Sangiorgi et al., 2021, doi:10.1029/2020PA004059). The polar fractions used in the study of Sangiorgi et al. (2021, doi:10.1029/2020PA004059) were re-analysed and integrated for TEX86H and along with the UK'37 record extended by 25 samples. Across the total record (269 samples), 124 ketone samples were analysed for the hydrogen isotopic compositions of C37 long chain alkenones (δ2HC37) with a GC-IRMS.
