Bacteria diversity and genetic pool on a 20 m deep well

In this study we investigated the diversity of microorganisms dwelling in the water column of a 20 m deep well located in the city of Mérida, Yucatán, as well as the gene pool they hold. Total DNA was extracted from around of 200 liters of water which were filtered through a 0.2 &amp #61549 m nylon mesh and pyrosequenced in a 454 Titanium platform.
