mRNA-Sequencing of two Aspergillis flavus strains with different levels of sclerotia fertility

Sclerotium (female) fertility, the ability of a strain to produce ascocarps in which meiosis occurs, influences internal morphological changes during sexual reproduction in Aspergillus flavus. Sclerotia from a high fertility cross (Hi-Fert-Mated), a low fertility cross (Lo-Fert-Mated), as well as from unmated strains (Hi-Fert-Unmated and Lo-Fert-Unmated) were each grown separately on mixed cereal agar and incubated at 30 *C in continuous darkness. Sclerotia were then harvested immediately after crosses were made and every two weeks until 8 weeks of incubation.
