Fungal communities from ponds in permafrost areas across the Arctic

This project aims to look at the fungal communities from ponds located in different permafrost areas across the Arctic, and which are the environmental drivers, specially regarding the quality of dissolved organic matter, that shape these communities. Ponds were sampled in five locations in the Arctic, which are differently affected by thawing processes: from more pristine sites, where permafrost thawing is not occurring, to more degraded sites with active thermokarst.
