The company Vertebradas Artes Escénicas arises from the permanent Inclusive Theatre Workshop that the creator, director, and educator Laura Suárez (https://lauraenorbita.com/) created and guided in 2015 with the interest of deepening the method of the theatre of experience, experimenting in acting techniques and collective creation. The scenic language of our shows is the reflection of this research and the fruit of almost 20 years of uninterrupted work with people with intellectual and psychic functional diversity. A transversal language where each of the performers can express themselves from their abilities, a quality inherent to the term “inclusion”, and which sensitively enriches the group's expression.
A cornerstone of the company’s values, equality and inclusion accompany all the productions of Vertebradas Artes Escénicas in different professional areas. The creative and scenic quality of these productions is a reflection of the diversity of the group and the benefit of difference.
Vertebradas premiered its first show, Diversas Mujeres, in 2017 at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Since then, it has participated in the III and VI Festival Visibles and has performed at Teatro Mira, Sala Tarambana, Nave 73, Congreso Internacional Aletheia - Universidad Complutense of Madrid.
