Metagenomic analyses of the RNA viral communities in seawater

We performed metagenomic analyses for RNA viral community by targeting dsRNA and ssRNA in seawater. 2L of surface seawater sample for each sampling points (Jam: 35.199 N, 139.392 E., St73: 47.0122 N, 160.0192 E., St79: 46.9718 N, 166.7472 E., St97: 46.9859 N, 179.4263 W., St122: 47.0035 N, 151.4048 W) was filtrated with 0.2 micro meter pore size filters and separated into filter trapped fraction and filter through fraction. After the purification of virus particles from filter through fraction, filter trapped fraction and purified extracellular virus particles were applied to ssRNA and dsRNA sequencing with the Illumina MiSeq platform. We also constracted a cDNA library derived from rRNA-depleted ssRNA of filter trapped fraction.
