Das Forschungsprojekt rekonstruiert Praktiken im Umgang mit digitalen Technologien von Studierenden und fragt welche digitalen Praktiken für das Studium existieren. Unter digitalen Praktiken werden dabei solche verstanden, in denen der Umgang mit digitalen Technologien inkorporiert ist. Dieser Forschungsfokus ist bedeutsam, da digitale Technologien Einzug in den Alltag von Studierenden gehalten haben. Allerdings ist wenig darüber bekannt, wie digitale Technologien für das Studium tatsächlich genutzt werden – wenn sie überhaupt dafür genutzt werden und ob sich im Studium digitale Praktiken entwickelt haben. Zwar gibt es diverse Studien zur Besitz- und Nutzungshäufigkeit digitaler Medien (Steffens, Schmitt & Aßmann 2018), aber die tatsächlichen digitalen Praktiken werden dabei nicht in den Mittelpunkt gestellt. Digitale Praktiken sind im Sinne Bourdieus ein Ausdruck des Habitus, weshalb davon auszugehen ist, dass die Aneignung digitaler Praktiken mit den Kapitalien und dem Milieu von Studierenden verbunden sind. Insofern wird in der Studie untersucht, inwieweit digitale Technologien zu (neuen) sozialen Ungleichheiten im Bildungssystem beitragen könnten
The research project reconstructs students' practices in dealing with digital technologies and asks which digital practices exist for their studies. Digital practices are understood to be those in which the use of digital technologies is incorporated. This research focus is important because digital technologies have become part of students' everyday life. However, little is known about how digital technologies are actually used for studying - if they are used for studying at all - and whether digital practices have developed in the course of study. Although there are various studies on the ownership and use of digital media (Steffens, Schmitt & Aßmann 2018), they do not focus on actual digital practices. In Bourdieu's sense, digital practices are an expression of habitus, which is why it can be assumed that the appropriation of digital practices is linked to the capital and milieu of students. In this respect, the study examines the extent to which digital technologies could contribute to (new) social inequalities in the educational system.
Interviews mit Studierenden:
Studierende vier staatlicher Universitäten aus Studiengängen mit hohem Prestige (Juristische Studiengänge und Geschichte) und solche die als sogenannte Aufsteigerfächer (Soziale Arbeit) gelten und von Studierenden gewählt werden, die als erste Generation oder über den zweiten Bildungsweg an Hochschulen kommen.
Interviews with students:
Students from four state universities from fields of study with high prestige (law and history) and those which are considered to be the so-called ascending subjects (social work) and are chosen by students who come to the universities as the first generation or through the second educational path
