During the campaign 'SpongeScan' from 30 October to 12 November 2024, oceanographic investigations were carried out from the water surface to the sea bottom at the site 'Arrival Heights Dive Hole' in McMurdo Sound (Ross Sea, Antarctica). A CTD was used in profile and mooring mode. The data sets obtained include directly measured parameters such as water temperature, conductivity, pressure, oxygen concentration, pH value, and salinity as well as the derived parameters water depth and salinity. The conditions provide information about the environment that characterises the benthic ecosystem in McMurdo Sound during the Antarctic summer. The moored CTD deployment enables a better understanding of internal water movements mainly due to tides.
