Event list for GPS stations on bedrock for Antarctica and the sub antarctic sector, 1995-2021

DOI

The GIANT-REGAIN (Geodynamics In ANTarctica based on REprocessing GNSS dAta Initiative) project aimed to reprocess and provide consistent GPS time series of all available GPS stations on bedrock in Antarctica from 1995 to 2021. In order to correlate the GPS coordinate time series with geodynamic processes, comprehensive information on events that possibly influence the coordinate trajectory must be available. Here we provide a list of such events, including information on setup changes for permanently operating GPS sites, efforts to seal the ground plates of GPS antennas to prevent snow intrusion and the occurrence of nearby earthquakes.
