Archeologische Begeleiding Project. 'Maatregelen t.b.v water vasthouden in Kapelse Moer', Vlake, Gemeente Kapelle

Als onderdeel van verdrogingsproject Kapelse Moer wordt ca. 10 ha nieuwe natuur ingericht. De grond die hierbij vrijkomt wordt elders in het gebied gebruikt om waterretentie mogelijk te maken. De nieuwe natuur bestaat uit een akkerbouwperceel, dat tot de herverkaveling het reliëf van gemoerd oudland had, zoals dat in de rest van het gebied bewaard is gebleven. De Kapelse en Yerseke Moer zijn begrensd als Natura 2000-gebied. Een belangrijk deel van de natuurwaarden berust op de invloed van zoute kwel vanuit het Kanaal door Zuid-Beveland. De zilte vegetaties maken onderdeel uit van de Instandhoudingsdoelen Natura 2000.
