Study on the prevalence of antibiotic resistance in foodborne bacterial pathogens in southern Vietnam

This project focuses on three foods of chicken meats, fishery products and vegetables. We plan to isolate Campylobacter, Salmonella and Listeria from chicken meats, Vibrio, Salmonella and Listeria from fishery products, and Salmonella and Listeria from vegetables. ESBL-producing E. coli and colistin resistant E. coli are also isolated from all foods samples. All isolated bacteria are clarified characteristics and antibiotic susceptibility. Moreover, for clarification of horizontal gene transfer, plasmid analysis is conducted by next generation sequencer.
