We investigated nuclear spin excitations in the multiferroic HoCrO3 on the BASIS spectrometer of SNS, Oak Ridge. We found low energy excitations arising from hyperfine interaction of the Ho nucleus at low temperatures. In addition we observed strong quasielastic scattering, which become increasingly broad at higher temperatures and goes out of the energy window of the BASIS spectrometer at about 100 K. Also Q range of the BASIS spectrometer was rather limited (0.4 - 1.8 Å^-1). For understanding the origin of this quasielastic scattering it is necessary to measure its temperature and Q dependence in a wider energy range. The OSIRIS spectrometer at ISIS has the required energy and Q ranges. We propose to investigate temperature and Q dependence of this quasielastic scattering on OSIRIS spectrometer and request 4 days of neutron beam time.
