Molecular phylogenetics of snailfishes (Liparidae: Cottoidei) based on MtDNA and RADseq genomic analyses

Phylogenetic relationships of snailfishes of the family Liparidae were analyzed on the basis of mitochondrial DNA cytochrome oxidase subunit one gene (COI) and genome-wide RADseq markers. For COI, the analysis of sequence data from at least 122 species of 17 genera from the Pacific, Atlantic, and Southern oceans resulted in a well- resolved phylogeny. The RADseq analysis of 26 species of 11 genera from the eastern North Pacific strongly confirmed the overall results of the COI analysis.
