Magnetic vesicles: structure and composition

DOI

This proposal aims to explore composition behaviour of vesicles formed by aqueous mixtures of magnetically active cationic liquid surfactants (MILSs, Figure 3) with the oppositely charged SDS. SANS will be used to investigate the effects of mixture composition, surfactant and magnetic counterion type on aggregate size and shape as well as bilayer composition (MILS:SDS) and thickness. The original proposal RB1510030 was rejected, with the comments ?It is unclear what the expected result is beyond a simple layer thickness. Perform conductivity measurements to observe counterion release.? The new proposal addresses both of these points (see Figure 2 and Justification).
