The cubic compound Ce3Ir4Sn13 shows complex step-like magnetic ordering at 2.1K and 0.6K in the heat capacity (also at 2.18K) and Hall effect. The 2.1K transition is furthermore accompanied by a structural deformation as seen through the lattice parameter anomaly. On the other hand the susceptibility shows a peak at 0.6K, but no anomaly at 2K. Thus it is important to investigate Ce3Ir4Sn13 using a microscopic technique such as µSR to fully understand the nature of two (or even three) phase-transitions observed at 0.6K, 2.0K (2.18K). We therefore propose to conduct a µSR experiment with on Ce3Ir4Sn13 in order to investigate magnetic/nonmagnetic issues associated with the ground state of this compound.
