Diffraction 'artifacts' due to shape sie and thickness variation in copper (parellel plates and core filling

We poropse to study the effect of postion, varaiation of distance and jaw size on a configuration of two Cu plates on the INES diffractometer in order to obtain informaton on peakshape, position of the Cu diffraction peaks. Also the influence of position and shape on the diffracton pattern of a simulated core material will be studied.This information is required to understand the diffraction patterns obtained from non ideal objects such as recently sudied Renaissance Statuettes.
