Aerial maps of Arctic surface skin temperature and surface type during the HALO-(AC)³ campaign in March/April 2022

DOI

High-resolution maps of Arctic surface skin temperature and surface type from the airborne campaign HALO-(AC)³ are derived from thermal infrared measurements. The data was collected during March and April 2022 in the Fram Strait and focuses on observation of the marginal sea-ice zone. The surface skin temperature was derived with a single-channel algorithm using VELOX 11.7µm channel. For the surface type, a random forest algortihm was used. The coverage of both data variables is constrained to cloud-free scenes.
