The physics across the phase transitions in solids has been of topical interest in the condensed matter physics. For example, liquid and vapor coexist along the vapor pressure curve and continuous liquid to gas conversion is possible beyond critical point. The knowledge of critical point is crucial in liquefying the gases in to liquids. In magnetic materials, the emergence of new magnetic phenomenon, at times, is observed by coexistence of different magnetic phases. Therefore, unraveling the magnetic phenomenon in such materials is always an interesting topic. The present proposal takes up the task to unravel the phase coexistence and first order phenomenon in Nd5Ge3 (rare-earth based compound) through muon spin relaxation (µSR) measurements by probing the spin fluctuations, low energy spin dynamics and long/short range magnetic orderings.
