The fungi Trichoderma harzianum and Trichoderma aggressivum are formidable mycoparasites and competitors of mushroom-forming fungi. During mushroom cultivation they pose a risk, as an infection may lead to complete crop failure. The ascomycete Purpureocillium lilacinium was isolated from the air and its growth was serendipitously discovered to inhibit the growth of the mushroom-forming fungus Schizophyllum commune. Here, we present the annotated genomes of these three competitors of mushroom-forming fungi.
