THE CONFORMATIONAL BEHAVIOUR OF ANTIOXIDANT CHROMONES

The present work aims at studying a series of potentially chemopreventive chromones by Inelastic Neutron Scattering spectroscopy, in view of achieving a complete understanding of their conformational behaviour, which determines their recognised antioxidant activity. The results thus obtained will be analysed in the light of quantum mechanical (DFT) calculations and optical vibrational spectroscopic data (both FTIR and Raman/SERS) already gathered for these systems.
