Microbial diversity in sediments from the bottom of the Challenger Deep, Mariana Trench.

The Challenger Deep is the deepest ocean on Earth. This study investigated microbial community structure and geochemical cycles associated with the trench bottom sediments of the Challenger Deep, Mariana Trench. The SSU rRNA gene amplicons for tag sequencing were analyzed by a 454 FLX Titanium sequencer.
