Chain Length Dependent Diffusion of Room Temperature Ionic Liquid in Bulk and Confined Geometry

DOI

The proposed research aims to probe the effects of alkyl chain length on the dynamics of a room temperature ionic liquid (RTIL) in bulk and in confinement in nano porous carbon of narrow pore size distribution using Quasi-Elastic Neutron Scattering (QENS). Chain length dependent dynamics of RTIL in bulk and in restricted geometry will be correlated with their inherent conducting capabilities. The results of the purposed research will impact on designing new and promising electrical double layer capacitors using RTILs in mesoporous carbons.
