Powder Averaged magnetic fluctuations in Cu3Nb2O8

Cu3Nb2O8 is an unusual multiferroic compound in that the electrical polarisation is oriented perpendicular to the common plane of rotation of the spins. We propose to begin a study of the magnetic interactions in this material by first measuring the powder averaged spectra. This will provide the energy scales to guide future efforts on single crystal measurements. The proposal requests 3 days on the MARI spectrometer.
