Diatom-Bacteria Symbiosis in the Marine Ecosystem

Although diatom and bacteria are microscopic organisms, their interaction may have global-scale impact on ocean function and productivity and it is thus important to understand what factors shape their diversity and abundance in the environment. The main goal of this study was to identify new beneficial diatom-bacteria association occurring between diatoms and their associated microbial consortia to increase our understanding of marine microbial interactions.
