Genomics of pigmentation and lack of operculum defects in cultivated gilthead seabream (Sparus aurata)

We applied a whole genome resequencing approach to identify a genomic region affecting a pigmentation and lack of operculum defects that occurred in a cultivated S. aurata population. Three equimolar DNA pools were constructed using DNA extracted from 30 normal, 30 lack of operculum and 21 non-pigmented fish collected from the same broodstock nucleus.
