Stable isotopes and trace elements of planktonic foraminifera from sediment core PS97/85-3

DOI

This study focuses on sediment core PS97/085-3 from the deep central Drake Passage close and north of the Antarctic Polar Front (APF). The foraminiferal Mg/Ca-based ocean temperature and salinity reconstructions approximated from stable oxygen isotopes (δ18O) of seawater (δ18Oseawater) reveal a highly dynamic upper ocean over the last 140 kyrs in response to changes in the SWW, ACC strength, sea-ice variability, and movements of the APF.
