We propose to study the crystal and magnetic structure of Y3Cu9(OH)19Cl8, a material which has been reported as distorted kagome antiferromagnet with a TN = 2.2 K. Recently, an elastic neu-tron diffraction experiment has been carried out on Y3Cu9(OH)19Cl8 powder in order to determine its crystal structure. By carrying out a combined experiment, we wish to reinvestigate the crystal structure, this time using deuterated Y3Cu9(OD)19Cl8 powder which will reduce the incoherent scattering from the hydrogen. Further, we would like to study the magnetic structure of Y3Cu9(OD)19Cl8 powder.
