Inelastic Spectroscopy of the Mobile Phase of Ammonia Borane

DOI

Ammonia borane (AB) is one of the most promising hydrogen storage materials. There has recently been work on a more mobile phase of AB (denoted AB*) which is formed (via the breaking of hydrogen bonds) as a precursor to decomposition. In this proposal we are asking for 3 days to study the vibration structure of this new phase in comparison to the room temperature phase of AB. The understanding the nature of this phase is important in understand the decomposition of AB.
