Phase separation in confined block-copolymers on a structured substrate studied by SERGIS

DOI

Co-polymers confined in small droplets may have a structure different from that in the bulk. These droplets are produced by annealing a spin-coated polymer film with a thickness smaller than the radius of gyration. In principle, the strucure of such a system can ideally be studied by SERGIS. However, earlier experiment showed that the spin-echo signal is too weak to be observed with a reasonable accuracy. Here we propose a method, making use of a strucured substrate, that may enhance the spin-echo signal. A first pilot experiment was promising but inconclusive. Here we propose the investigate this new method in more detail.
