Oil degradation in lab simulated shallow sandy sediments from Pensacola Beach, FL 2015

In this study, we employ advective-flow chambers that simulate in-situ pressure gradients found in saturated subtidal coastal sediments to study the impacts of deposited weathered oil on microbial communities and the biogeochemical cycles they regulate. These data represent the succession in microbial community compositions between control and oil amended subtidal sands over a 3.5 month period.
