MuSR is useful technique/probe in studying small magnetic moment and also identifying magnetic order (short-range or long-range) in a magnetic material.Earlier report on neutron powder diffraction on alpha-Mn2O3 shows that there is magnetic AFM peak (100) which present above 80 K up to 100 K. It is not clear whether this transition is long range or short range. MuSR measurements as a function of temperature would be useful to explain the nature of this transition. Our magnetization, dielectric and temperature dependent polarisation results show the anomalies around 110 K and electric polarization emerges around 110 K. It would be interesting to temperature dependent MuSR and correlate this with dielectric and electric polarization. This will certainly provide the better understating of the origin of electric polarization in this new multiferroics.
