Determining the Induced Magnetism in Graphene by High-Angle Polarised Neutron Reflectivity

DOI

The aim of this proposal is to measure the induced magnetic moment in graphene arising from the proximity effect in the vicinity of a ferromagnetic substrate using high-angle Polarised Neutron Reflectivity (PNR) measurements at the POLREF endstation at ISIS, STFC. We thereby aim to identify and quantify the spin splitting in the graphene lattice by unambiguously determining the induced magnetic moment at 5 K.
