DINS is capable of observing coherent tunneling of protons in a double well potential through the effects of the tunneling on the momentum distribution of the protons. In our previous experiments at VESUVIO we demonstrated this capability in a simple double well system, hydrogen in the alpha-Mn. The oscillations in the momentum distribution, analogous to the diffraction pattern in a two slit experiment, were seen at 2 K and disappeared at 290 K, when the temperature exceeds the tunnel splitting (6.3 meV). Unfortunately the statistics of the obtained data was not good enough to get quantitative parameters for hydrogen potential in alpha-Mn. We propose here to do DINS on a larger sample of alpha-MnH0.07 (m=10 g) to get good quality spectra. The obtained data, together with existing INS and QENS data, will help in construction a true model of H behavior in alpha-Mn.
