The Behavioral and microbiota cross-talk in farmed gilthead sea bream (Sparus aurata). Insights in mucosal health and social interactions at high stocking densities

The aim of this study was to contribute to disclosing the behavior and microbiota cross-talk in gilthead sea bream (a highly cultured fish in the Mediterranean basin) with a focus on skin and intestine microbiota, intestine host transcriptomics, and their associated shifts with behavioral and growth/metabolic homeostatic markers in a cognitive stress model of high fish stocking density with limited oxygen (O2) availability.
