This dataset includes 43 glass production sites from the 17th until the 20th century. The purpose of collecting this data was to collate and update the chronology of the Estonian glass industry focusing on the dates, locations, archaeological information, and examples of existing finds from Estonian glass production sites to assist researchers in future studies of the glassworks. This dataset includes one site in modern-day Russia by the former border of the Governorate of Estonia as the workers are recorded in Narva church books. The data in this dataset were collected by Monika Reppo using both records kept and digitized at the National Archives of Estonia, Institute of the Estonian Language, Estonian History Museum, Estonian Nature Information System (EELIS), and Estonian Cultural History Archives of the Estonian Literary Museum as well as published works, maps (Estonian Land Board) and archaeological finds as part of a University of Tartu PhD project ‘Glass and its makers in post-medieval Estonia’ from 2017-2023. This dataset consists of a single table which is one of three datasets in this PhD project.
