We propose measurements of the Bose-Einstein Condensate (BEC) fraction n0 of solid helium confined in porous media. A superfluid fraction in solid helium in Vycor, in aerogel and in porous gold as well as in bulk solid helium below a temperature TC ~ 200 mK has been reported. Superflow is usually a consequence of BEC. Path integral Monte Carlo calculations find a superfluid fraction of 5 to 50 % and n0 =0.5 % in bulk amorphous helium but negligible values of both in perfect crystals. Superflow via amorphous regions in solid helium has therefore been proposed. Solid helium confined in porous media of diameter d < 50 Å is entirely amorphous. Therefore BEC in amorphous helium should be observable in porous media, if there. An observed n0 would confirm superflow via amorphous regions. We propose measurement of n0 in 45 Å-1 pore MCM-41.
