Characterization of microbial communities constituting the Moroccan marine microbiota and study of their survival in the presence of abiotic parameters.

The objective of this project is to characterize the distribution of microorganisms constituting the Moroccan marine microbiota in the surface microlayer. Their functional diversity and complexity should allow to evaluate the robustness of the whole marine ecosystem, and its evolution from one state to another in the presence of abiotic disturbances. Nutrient pollution, plastics, thermal variations and climate type are key factors in the genotypic and phenotypic evolution of the marine microbiota in the surface microlayer.
