Development of Platanus-allee and benchmarks of haplotype assemblers

Platanus-allee, a new de novo haplotype assembler, was developed and benchmarks of haplotype construction abilities of multiple tools were performed. The target samples were Papilio polytes (swallowtail butterfly), Branchiostoma japonicum (amphioxus), Caenorhabditis elegans (nematode worm) and Homo sapiens (human), which had various levels of heterozygosity. The sequencing datasets consists of Illumina paired-ends, mate-pairs, PacBio (Pacific Biosciences) long-reads and 10X (10X Genomics) linked-reads.
